Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit map print

Not a track outline: a real map of the circuit and the land around it.

A map artwork of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, its long, wandering lap drawn in orange through the Eifel hills, dipping into deep wooded valleys on its northern side. Blue roads, streams and contour lines cross a pale grey ground shaded in relief, in the harbour style.

The Nordschleife was built in the 1920s around the village and castle of Nürburg, high in the Eifel, and the map shows it as a lap that a whole landscape fits inside.

The lap, and the ground it runs over

The first races were held in June 1927, and from the start it was also a toll road anyone could drive, as it still is on public days. Jackie Stewart called it the Green Hell after winning there in rain and fog in 1968, and Niki Lauda's fire in 1976 came at the kink before Bergwerk. The lap now begins at the Sabine-Schmitz-Kurve, renamed in her honour in 2021.

On the artwork the line dives into the deep valleys along its northern side, where the relief is darkest, through Flugplatz, Adenauer Forst and on to the Karussell. It comes home past Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten, through the Stefan-Bellof-S, and down the long Döttinger Höhe beside the main road, with the castle hill of Nürburg standing inside the loop.

The designer opens with the lap already drawn and the frame fitted to it. Write your title and the line beneath it, choose from 19 styles, and preview the finished artwork before you buy.

Questions

Is the modern Grand Prix circuit drawn too?

The coloured line is the Nordschleife on its own, the 20.750 km lap. The newer circuit beside it shows in the map's own lines at the bottom of the artwork, so a combined lap from the long races still sits on it.

Can I add my lap time or finishing position?

Yes. The title and the line beneath it are yours to write, so a lap time, a result, a race or a date all fit. The Nürburgring Nordschleife lap and its length are drawn for you, and you see the finished artwork before you buy.

Where does the lap length come from?

It is measured from the track itself, as mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, so it can differ by a few metres from the figure a circuit publishes.

Is this an official Nürburgring Nordschleife product?

No. Maps & Son is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nürburgring Nordschleife or its owners. The name says which place is mapped: this is a map of the circuit and the land around it, drawn from OpenStreetMap.

How much does a race circuit print cost?

Prints start at £24.95, printed on 240 gsm smooth fine-art paper, with delivery included to the UK and 25 other countries. Sold as A4, A3, A2 or A1 prints, unframed, at standard sizes so a ready-made frame will fit.
