Snetterton sits beside the A11 between Thetford and Norwich, on what was RAF Snetterton Heath, a wartime home to American bomber crews.
The lap, and the ground it runs over
Racing began on the old runways in 1951. The lap on the artwork is the full layout, which folds a tight infield section inside a lap that runs the length of the site, with the Bentley Straight and the Senna Straight between its two ends. Several corners carry racing names, among them Brundle, Agostini and Palmer, and the Bomb Hole keeps its old name.
Norfolk is flat, so the map shows something a hillier circuit hides: every field boundary, farm track and road laid out as cleanly as a plan, with the dual carriageway running past the top of the site.
The designer opens with the lap already drawn and the frame fitted to it. Write your title and the line beneath it, choose from 19 styles, and preview the finished artwork before you buy.
Questions
Which Snetterton layout is drawn?
The full-length circuit, 4.789 km as measured from the map. The shorter layouts use parts of it, so the map holds those too.
Can I add my lap time or finishing position?
Yes. The title and the line beneath it are yours to write, so a lap time, a result, a race or a date all fit. The Snetterton lap and its length are drawn for you, and you see the finished artwork before you buy.
Where does the lap length come from?
It is measured from the track itself, as mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, so it can differ by a few metres from the figure a circuit publishes.
Is this an official Snetterton product?
No. Maps & Son is not affiliated with or endorsed by Snetterton or its owners. The name says which place is mapped: this is a map of the circuit and the land around it, drawn from OpenStreetMap.
How much does a race circuit print cost?
Prints start at £24.95, printed on 240 gsm smooth fine-art paper, with delivery included to the UK and 25 other countries. Sold as A4, A3, A2 or A1 prints, unframed, at standard sizes so a ready-made frame will fit.
