Marina Bay circuit map print

Not a track outline: a real map of the circuit and the land around it.

A map artwork of Marina Bay in Singapore: the street lap drawn as a coral red line through a grid of gold city streets and flyovers, with the dark water of the bay below it, on a deep midnight blue background.

Marina Bay is raced on the streets of central Singapore, under floodlights, past the Padang, City Hall and the waterfront that gives it its name.

The lap, and the ground it runs over

The circuit opened in 2008 and was built for racing after dark: around 1600 floodlights line the lap. Most of it runs through the Downtown Core, with the first few corners over the boundary in Kallang. It goes round the Padang, past City Hall, over the Esplanade Bridge and across Anderson Bridge by the Fullerton Hotel, then back along Raffles Avenue.

Because these are everyday roads, the map shows the lap as a line through a working city: office blocks, flyovers and junctions on one side, the open water of the bay below it. For years a run of corners sat on the floating platform out in the bay, and the lap has been altered there since, so the drawn line follows the roads as they are mapped now.

The designer opens with the lap already drawn and the frame fitted to it. Write your title and the line beneath it, choose from 19 styles, and preview the finished artwork before you buy.

Questions

Which version of the lap is drawn?

The street circuit as the roads are mapped today, 4.943 km as measured from the map. The layout around the floating platform has changed over the years, so if you raced or watched an earlier version, that section may differ.

Can I add my lap time or finishing position?

Yes. The title and the line beneath it are yours to write, so a lap time, a result, a race or a date all fit. The Marina Bay lap and its length are drawn for you, and you see the finished artwork before you buy.

Where does the lap length come from?

It is measured from the track itself, as mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, so it can differ by a few metres from the figure a circuit publishes.

Is this an official Marina Bay product?

No. Maps & Son is not affiliated with or endorsed by Marina Bay or its owners. The name says which place is mapped: this is a map of the circuit and the land around it, drawn from OpenStreetMap.

How much does a race circuit print cost?

Prints start at £24.95, printed on 240 gsm smooth fine-art paper, with delivery included to the UK and 25 other countries. Sold as A4, A3, A2 or A1 prints, unframed, at standard sizes so a ready-made frame will fit.
