Your run, printed on a real map

Upload the GPX file of a run, ride or walk and we’ll frame the map around it, with your distance and climb ready to print. Add your name and time, preview the finished artwork, and we print it on fine art paper. Prices from £24.95, and delivery is free.

A map artwork of a half-marathon route around Ilkley, West Yorkshire: the course drawn as a white line along the River Wharfe and through the town, on deep Prussian blue with the moors shaded above it, and the distance and climb printed beneath.

Every step of it, on the map

A route drawn on a real map shows what a list of splits cannot: the river you ran beside, the climb out of town, the turn where it started to hurt. Your file draws the line, the map frames itself around it, and the landscape it crosses is printed properly, roads, rivers, woods and hills, in any of twelve styles. If the designer shows a Connect with Strava button, you can choose an activity from your own account instead of uploading a file.

  1. Get your GPX file

Export the activity from Strava on a computer, Garmin Connect or your own app. Strava's phone app cannot export one; our guide shows the way round it.

  2. Upload and frame it

Drop the file into the designer. The map frames itself around your route, with the distance and climb ready to print beneath it.

  3. See it, then we print it

Preview the finished artwork before you buy. Prints from £24.95, delivered free.

Who it's for

For the runner

A first half marathon, a personal best, the parkrun you have done a hundred times. Upload the run and write your time in the line beneath the title.

For the cyclist

A sportive, a coast-to-coast day, the loop you ride every Sunday. The distance and the climb come from your own file, so they are your numbers, not a guess.

For the walker

A long-distance path, a round of fells, the walk up a mountain you had been putting off for years. Any GPS track draws the same way.

As a gift

For somebody who has just finished something hard. Ask them for the GPX file, or for the activity on their computer, and design it for them.

Questions

Can I print my Strava run?

Yes. Export the activity from Strava as a GPX file on a computer and upload it in the designer; the Strava phone apps cannot export a GPX file. Where the designer shows a Connect with Strava button, you can pick the activity straight from your account instead. That connection is open to a limited number of accounts for now, so the GPX upload is the way that always works.

Which file do I need?

A GPX file of a single activity, not your whole history. Strava on a computer, Garmin Connect and Komoot can all export one, and so can most running and cycling apps. Apple Health needs a free app such as RunGap or HealthFit to export it.

Can I add my time?

Yes. The title and the line beneath it are yours to write, so your name, your finishing time or the event all fit. If your file records the time, the designer also offers it with the distance and climb, and you tick the ones you want printed.

Does it work for cycling and hiking?

Yes. Any GPS track works: a run, a ride, a walk or a hike. The map frames itself around the route. A very long ride can be too big to print at readable detail, and the designer tells you if yours is; a single day or stage usually fits.

Is my route kept private?

Your file is used only to draw your artwork and is kept with your design, nowhere else. Many runs start at a front door, so look at where yours begins before you upload it. You choose the file, and nothing is shared.

How much does a route print cost?

Prints start at £24.95, printed on 240 gsm smooth fine-art paper, with delivery included to the UK and 25 other countries. Sold as A4, A3, A2 or A1 prints, unframed, at standard sizes so a ready-made frame will fit.

Are you connected with Strava?

No. Strava is a trade mark of Strava, Inc., and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava. A GPX file exported from Strava works without any connection; the Connect with Strava button, where it is shown, only lets you choose an activity from your own account.
