Blyton Park circuit map print

Not a track outline: a real map of the circuit and the land around it.

A map artwork of Blyton Park in pale chambray and white: the lap drawn as a thin red line, a long narrow loop running north to south with a link across its middle, among faint blue lanes, field edges, a small pond and a winding stream on soft white ground.

Blyton Park, near Gainsborough in Lincolnshire, is laid out on what remains of RAF Blyton, a wartime bomber station whose runways have carried some kind of motorsport since the 1950s.

The lap, and the ground it runs over

The airfield opened on 20 April 1942 and, at its height, housed over two thousand service personnel. Heavy bomber crews trained here, among them the men of the 1662 Heavy Conversion Unit. Once the RAF left, the site hosted stock cars on a tarmac oval, karts, drag racing, rallying and autograss, which is still run at its southern end.

In March 2011 the motorsport enthusiast Richard Usher bought the airfield, and the Blyton Park Driving Centre opened two months later. The lap on the artwork follows the old north to south runway and perimeter tracks, a long, narrow loop with a link across its middle, laid out on the open, gently rolling farmland of the Lincolnshire edge.

The designer opens with the lap already drawn and the frame fitted to it. Write your title and the line beneath it, choose from 19 styles, and preview the finished artwork before you buy.

Questions

Which Blyton Park layout is drawn?

The lap drawn is 2.311 km as measured from the map. Blyton runs several layouts over the same runways and perimeter tracks, so if yours was a different one, write it in the line beneath the title.

Can I add my lap time or finishing position?

Yes. The title and the line beneath it are yours to write, so a lap time, a result, a race or a date all fit. The Blyton Park lap and its length are drawn for you, and you see the finished artwork before you buy.

Where does the lap length come from?

It is measured from the track itself, as mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, so it can differ by a few metres from the figure a circuit publishes.

Is this an official Blyton Park product?

No. Maps & Son is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blyton Park or its owners. The name says which place is mapped: this is a map of the circuit and the land around it, drawn from OpenStreetMap.

How much does a race circuit print cost?

Prints start at £24.95, printed on 240 gsm smooth fine-art paper, with delivery included to the UK and 25 other countries. Sold as A4, A3, A2 or A1 prints, unframed, at standard sizes so a ready-made frame will fit.
