Autodromo Nazionale Monza circuit map print

Not a track outline: a real map of the circuit and the land around it.

A map artwork of Autodromo Nazionale Monza: the long, narrow lap in steel blue on a warm parchment background, with the outline of the old banked oval inside it, the tracks and fields of the park around it, and a dark river winding down the eastern side.

Monza was built in a single summer in 1922, inside the walled royal park north of Milan, and a century of changes to it can still be read on the map.

The lap, and the ground it runs over

The park was laid out for Napoleon's stepson, Eugène de Beauharnais, as the grounds of the Royal Villa, and the circuit has shared it with the trees since its opening on 3 September 1922. The artwork draws today's lap: the long main straight into the Variante del Rettifilo, the Variante della Roggia, the two Lesmo bends, the Variante Ascari and then Curva Alboreto, named in 2021 after Michele Alboreto, back onto the straight.

Look inside the lap and a second shape appears: the old banked oval, built in 1954, its curves crossing the road course. Cars last raced the banking in a major event in 1969, it escaped demolition in the 1990s and has since been restored. Along the eastern edge of the artwork, the river Lambro winds down through the park.

The designer opens with the lap already drawn and the frame fitted to it. Write your title and the line beneath it, choose from 19 styles, and preview the finished artwork before you buy.

Questions

Is the old banked oval part of the lap?

No. The coloured line is today's road circuit, the 5.797 km lap with its three chicanes. The oval is drawn in as part of the map around it, so you can see where the two cross.

Can I add my lap time or finishing position?

Yes. The title and the line beneath it are yours to write, so a lap time, a result, a race or a date all fit. The Autodromo Nazionale Monza lap and its length are drawn for you, and you see the finished artwork before you buy.

Where does the lap length come from?

It is measured from the track itself, as mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, so it can differ by a few metres from the figure a circuit publishes.

Is this an official Autodromo Nazionale Monza product?

No. Maps & Son is not affiliated with or endorsed by Autodromo Nazionale Monza or its owners. The name says which place is mapped: this is a map of the circuit and the land around it, drawn from OpenStreetMap.

How much does a race circuit print cost?

Prints start at £24.95, printed on 240 gsm smooth fine-art paper, with delivery included to the UK and 25 other countries. Sold as A4, A3, A2 or A1 prints, unframed, at standard sizes so a ready-made frame will fit.
