Circuit of the Americas circuit map print

Not a track outline: a real map of the circuit and the land around it.

A map artwork of Circuit of the Americas: the lap drawn in deep teal on a dusky rose background, its winding middle section between a long straight and the hairpins, surrounded by striped car parks, access roads, contour lines and small dark red ponds.

Circuit of the Americas opened in 2012 on open country southeast of Austin, the first circuit in the United States built from scratch for Grand Prix racing.

The lap, and the ground it runs over

Tavo Hellmund and Kevin Schwantz conceived the layout, with Hermann Tilke as designer, and they borrowed freely from older tracks. The fast esses after the first corner are modelled on Silverstone's sequence of sweeping bends, there is a long multi-apex left taken from Istanbul, and a stadium section echoes Hockenheim.

The first thing every driver meets is the hill. From the start the road climbs steeply to a hairpin at the top, and the contours on the artwork bunch together right there. Beyond the lap the map is full of the car parks and access roads a race weekend needs, with ponds dotted across the Texan grass.

The designer opens with the lap already drawn and the frame fitted to it. Write your title and the line beneath it, choose from 19 styles, and preview the finished artwork before you buy.

Questions

Which way round does the lap run?

Anticlockwise, one of the few top-level circuits to do so. The 5.502 km lap is drawn in full, from the climb to the first corner to the long straight across the top of the artwork.

Can I add my lap time or finishing position?

Yes. The title and the line beneath it are yours to write, so a lap time, a result, a race or a date all fit. The Circuit of the Americas lap and its length are drawn for you, and you see the finished artwork before you buy.

Where does the lap length come from?

It is measured from the track itself, as mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, so it can differ by a few metres from the figure a circuit publishes.

Is this an official Circuit of the Americas product?

No. Maps & Son is not affiliated with or endorsed by Circuit of the Americas or its owners. The name says which place is mapped: this is a map of the circuit and the land around it, drawn from OpenStreetMap.

How much does a race circuit print cost?

Prints start at £24.95, printed on 240 gsm smooth fine-art paper, with delivery included to the UK and 25 other countries. Sold as A4, A3, A2 or A1 prints, unframed, at standard sizes so a ready-made frame will fit.
