Croft circuit map print

Not a track outline: a real map of the circuit and the land around it.

A map artwork of Croft in North Yorkshire: the lap drawn in dark teal on cream, its hairpin and long sweeping curves laid over the line of an old runway, with green fields at its edges.

Croft is near Dalton-on-Tees, just south of Darlington, on what was RAF Croft, a wartime bomber station.

The lap, and the ground it runs over

Racing first came here in the 1950s, and the circuit as it is now was rebuilt in the 1990s around the old airfield. On the artwork one of its runways still shows beside the track, with the lap's long curves and its tight Hairpin laid out below it.

Clervaux, Barcroft, Sunny, the Jim Clark Esses and the Complex are all on it, drawn as the track itself runs, with the fields and farm tracks of the Tees valley around it.

The designer opens with the lap already drawn and the frame fitted to it. Write your title and the line beneath it, choose from 19 styles, and preview the finished artwork before you buy.

Questions

Is the old runway on the map?

Yes. The map draws what is on the ground, and part of RAF Croft's runway is still there beside the 3.300 km lap.

Can I add my lap time or finishing position?

Yes. The title and the line beneath it are yours to write, so a lap time, a result, a race or a date all fit. The Croft lap and its length are drawn for you, and you see the finished artwork before you buy.

Where does the lap length come from?

It is measured from the track itself, as mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, so it can differ by a few metres from the figure a circuit publishes.

Is this an official Croft product?

No. Maps & Son is not affiliated with or endorsed by Croft or its owners. The name says which place is mapped: this is a map of the circuit and the land around it, drawn from OpenStreetMap.

How much does a race circuit print cost?

Prints start at £24.95, printed on 240 gsm smooth fine-art paper, with delivery included to the UK and 25 other countries. Sold as A4, A3, A2 or A1 prints, unframed, at standard sizes so a ready-made frame will fit.
